just had another amazing stay in strachur at this country cottage! it truly exceeded our expectations. the house is welcoming, high standard, and has all the modern amenities you need while still maintaining an old charm. perfect for celebrating special occasions with plenty of room for everyone. bonus: they provide bikes, a rope swing, and a cozy log burning fire!
One small thing was missing, could have used a working tv.

It had a TV with all the channels we needed, a DVD player, and a PS3 for the kids to enjoy. The iPod docking station added a nice touch of entertainment. We also loved the array of activities available, such as fishing, canoeing, and hiking. It kept both the adults and the children entertained throughout our stay. The lodge truly exceeded our expectations!
My wife says that having a playground area for the kids would have been a great addition to the lodge.

The cottage was well equipped and had a good sized garden and two decking areas, perfect for our group of 2 adults, 6 kids, and dog. The log burner was lovely and it was great that it was set up to use on arrival. We also enjoyed the nearby walks to the castle and café.
We found the oven slow to heat, but it could have just been us not using it properly. a great stay with just a minor inconvenience.

The entertainment options were lit, with a huge TV, DVD player, and PS3 to keep us entertained. We jammed to our favorite tunes on the iPod docking station too. And let's talk about the activities, yo! Fishing, canoeing, and hiking were all on the agenda, and we lived for the adventure. It was the ultimate hangout spot for us adventure-seeking teens!
If there was one thing we wished for, it would be more options for late-night fun. As young party-goers, we craved some cool nightlife or maybe a game room with a pool table or foosball.

Oh, the joy of struggling with the slow-cooking oven. How delightful!

The kitchen was well-equipped and spacious, making it easy to prepare meals for the family. the lodge itself was comfortable and had a cozy lounge area where we enjoyed playing games and watching TV. the location of the lodge was ideal, with short drives to many beautiful places nearby.
The oven in the kitchen didn't seem to heat up properly and took a long time to cook our food. Better bookkeeping could have prevented this issue.
